FEMA IS-37: Managerial Safety and Health Course Overview

Course Overview

This course is for FEMA managers, supervisors, or designated management representatives and is designed to help them understand their responsibility for workplace safety and protection of human health. The course identifies the Executive Orders, legislative standards and regulations, internal directives, and policies that govern FEMA’s workplace safety and health program. In addition, the course covers the reporting process associated with injury, illness, and accidents within FEMA.

Course Objectives:

  • Identify management’s responsibility for workplace safety and protection of human health
  • Identify the Federal Coordinating Officer’s role in providing for workplace safety and protection of human health
  • Identify the Executive Orders, legislative standards and regulations, internal directives, and policies that govern FEMA’s workplace safety and health program
  • Describe the reporting process associated with Injury, Illness, and Accidents within FEMA

Primary Audience

FEMA managers, supervisors, or designated management representatives (every 2 years).

Prerequisites

The IS-35 course, FEMA Safety Orientation, has been identified as a recommended pre-requisite.
