Course Overview

This course overviews the process for completing an Individual Assistance (IA) Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA).

Course Objectives:

  • Identify the basis of FEMA’s authority to conduct IA PDAs
  • Define the steps in the declaration process
  • Describe logistics of conducting IA PDAs
  • Explain the roles and responsibilities of IA PDA team members
  • Define the steps in the IA PDA Process
  • Recognize basic construction components and different types of damage

IA Staff who will be conducting IA PDAs
State and local staff who will be working with FEMA staff on IA PDAs
OFA staff who will work with IA PDA teams
